Erin Smith is the Chief Executive Officer of Grasslands Finance Corp., where she is responsible for the company's strategic direction, operations, and long-term growth. As a lawyer-turned-executive with a track record of building organizations, she brings extensive experience in executive leadership, corporate governance, operations, and financial services. She is committed to fostering a culture of empowerment, engagement, and respect while maintaining a strong focus on delivering results.
Prior to joining Grasslands, Erin served as Chief Operating Officer at a large insurance broker serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clientele. Earlier in her career, she practiced corporate commercial law at one of Western Canada’s leading law firms, advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, competition law, and a broad range of commercial matters. Her experience across legal, operational, and executive leadership roles enables her to bridge strategy, governance, and execution.
Erin holds a Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from Queen's University, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from McGill University, as well as the ICD.D designation in corporate governance. She serves on corporate boards and is committed to ongoing professional development in governance and leadership. Outside of work, Erin values time with her husband and their three young children, especially lazy afternoons at the park.
