As Director of Operations at Grasslands Finance Corp., Shirley Cheriyan plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company’s strategic and operational priorities. Working closely with the CEO, she leads initiatives that drive internal efficiency, streamline processes, and ensure seamless day-to-day operations. With a strong focus on execution, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration, Shirley brings structure and clarity to complex initiatives—ensuring that strategic goals translate into measurable outcomes.
Shirley brings over a decade of financial and operational leadership to her role. Prior to joining Grasslands, she held senior finance positions in the real estate development and investment sectors, where she was responsible for corporate finance strategy, risk management, capital structuring, and financial reporting. Earlier in her career, she managed a commercial real estate portfolio and led a range of initiatives spanning acquisitions, financing, leasing, and asset optimization. Her experience spans financial analysis, project leadership, and regulatory compliance across both private and corporate environments.
Shirley is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with a Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) from the University of Saskatchewan and a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction from the University of Alberta. She is guided by a strong sense of integrity, accountability, and a drive for continuous improvement. Outside of work, Shirley enjoys traveling, staying active outdoors, and spending time with her family—especially supporting her children’s volleyball and basketball pursuits.
